2017 60th ANNIVERSARY EVENTS |

The President of the Hardy Plant Society, Roy Lancaster, came to speak to us in Colehill on Saturday, 28th October, at 2.30 pm. His talk was entitled ‘A Life of Plants'.
In order to anticipate the numbers attending, we made the meeting an ‘all ticket’ event. The cost was £1.50 for Dorset Group members and £5.00 for visitors. Unlike our normal Speaker Meetings, this included tea or coffee and cake. |

Evening Meal at the
Brabant Suite, Dudsbury Golf Club Hotel and Spa, 64 Christchurch Road, Ferndown, Dorset, BH22 8ST
After the Speaker Meeting we shall meet up at the nearby Golf Club where Welcome Drinks will be available from 5.30 pm. The club has changing facilities that members can use, or they can book a room, see below.
The meal will start from 6.30 pm and will include 3 courses, followed by Coffee and Mints.

- We only have 70 seats available, so we have restricted bookings to Dorset Group Members Only.
- The cost will be £25 for Dorset Group Members. This includes a subsidy on the overall price.
- The cost includes a Welcome Drink (from 5.30 pm), a 3 course meal (from 6.30 pm), followed by Coffee and Mints. You can purchase any additional drinks at the Bar.
- We have negotiated subsidised overnight accommodation for anyone attending the event – single/double rooms may be booked, in advance, at £70/£90 per room for bed and breakfast, which includes the use of the Leisure Centre and Spa up to 11 am the following day. You will need to book this directly with the hotel, before the event, explaining that you are attending this event.
- We are expecting this to be well attended so would encourage early commitment.

Please check first to see whether we still have seats available (by contacting us via the website), then complete the Booking Form, choosing what you would like to eat, and send with your cheque to David Burnham-Slipper. 41 Wimborne Road West, Wimborne, BH21 2DQ Our members, Marie and Robin Fitzwalter will be opening their garden, to celebrate the HPS Diamond Anniversary. Entrance £1, to go to HPS, Children free. Refreshments and many plants for sale. See Previous Events for Event Report and photos
Sunday, June 25th 11 am to 5 pm
Sapling Cottage, East Street Blandford DT11 7DX. (Access via door adjacent to The Sapling Gift Shop and opposite Sweeney Todd's barbers) Our member, Elaine Lofthouse, will be opening her garden, to celebrate the HPS Diamond Anniversary, and also as part of Blandford Hidden Gardens, where £5 will pay for entry to all 15 gardens. You can park at the Town Centre car parks P&D or free street parking. Elaine describes it as "One of Blandford's few remaining ‘burgage plots’ in private ownership; this is a peaceful country garden in the town, with a Grade 2 listed boundary wall, ancient fruit trees and mixed borders. We have lived here for 2 years and are slowly rejuvenating and replanting the shrubs and herbaceous areas". Children free, no dogs please. Refreshments and plants for sale.
