Membership

As part of our registration with the Hardy Plant Society (HPS), it is mandatory that only fully paid up members of the HPS may become members of the Dorset Group, and you will need to quote your 'national' Hardy Plant Society membership number on our application form.

If you are not yet a member of the Hardy Plant Society you can find out more by clicking this link www.hardy-plant.org.uk (Single £17, Joint £19, students £10).

​Membership of the Dorset HPS runs from 1st January to 31st December, the membership fee is £5 per person. However, if you should join us form 1st October onwards, your membership will continue until 31st December the following year.

​As a Dorset HPS member you can:-

• enjoy free admission to all (unless occasionally otherwise indicated) our speaker meetings at Colehill Village Hall
• buy a ticket for our annual Celebrity Guest Speaker talk. (In the past few years we have brought Pippa Greenwood, James Alexander Sinclair, Mary Payne, Rosy Hardy, Fergus Garrett, Helen Yemm and Tom Hart Dyke to Dorset.)
• share your gardening knowledge and learn from our many experienced members at the meetings
• the opportunity to buy well priced plants that are often not the regular 'run of the mill' plants that you find at your local garden centre. Additionally, our speakers often bring specialist plants for sale after their talks
• the opportunity to sell and make money from your own plants at our meetings and at our annual Plant Fair
• come on our trips and visits to gardens both local and further afield, enjoying the company of like minded gardeners, to some unusual venues
• our 'Newsletter' sent out just before each speaker meeting to keep you up-to-date
