Membership
Please note, at the moment we are not accepting new applications for membership, but please email us if you would like to go on a Wait List

Because of our association with the national Hardy Plant Society (HPS), it is required that all Dorset HPS members must also be members of the national Hardy Plant Society, and in order to join us you will need to quote your 'national' Hardy Plant Society membership number on our application form. If you would like to know more about what this entails, then follow the link to The Hardy Plant Society for more details.

Membership of the Dorset HPS runs from 1st January to 31st December. However, if you should join us 1st October onwards, your membership will continue until 31st December the following year. Our membership costs £5.00 single membership or £8.00 for joint membership, where both members live at the same address.

As a Dorset Member you will get
  • Free admission to all (unless occasionally otherwise indicated) our speaker meetings at Colehill Village Hall
  • The opportunity to see Celebrity Guest Speaker talks (at an extra charge) such as Pippa Greenwood, James Alexander Sinclair, Mary Payne, Rosy Hardy, Fergus Garrett and Helen Yemm - all within the last 4 years
  • Share your gardening knowledge and learn from our many experienced members at the meetings
  • The opportunity to buy well priced plants that are often not the regular 'run of the mill' plants that you find at your local garden centre. Additionally, our speakers often bring specialist plants for sale after their talks
  • The opportunity to sell your own plants at our meetings and at our annual Plant Fair
  • Come along on our holiday or day trips, enjoying the company of like minded gardeners, to unusual venues
  • Our 'Hardy Times' newsletter sent out just before each speaker meeting to keep you up-to-date

Unfortunately, we are not accepting new members at the moment. However if you would like to receive our newsletter and go on our Membership Wait List then please email our Group Secretary.

So why not come and join us? Click on the link below to download a membership form for Dorset and send off with your cheque or standing order form completed to the address on it, or bring it along to the next meeting. (our meeting schedule can be found under Events/Speaker Events).
We encourage all our members to pay by standing order if they can, as it reduces our operating costs and hence we can keep membership rates low.
