Day Trip to RHS Wisley, to visit their Garden and their Annual Flower Show
Saturday 11th September 2021
Here is an opportunity to enjoy a day out at the world famous RHS garden at Wisley, without having to worry about the driving! The RHS vision is to enrich everyone's lives through plants, and visiting Wisley will give us a chance to see the plants at their very best. We can see how they should be grown and may benefit from the expert knowledge of the RHS staff.
In addition, our visit will coincide with their Annual Flower Show, which was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. It usually includes many nurseries and trade stands selling plants, a Surrey NAFAS flower display, That National Dahlia Society Annual Show as well as all the "usuals". Please note, you do not need to be a member of the RHS to come on this trip, but you will be responsible for your own entrance cost to the garden. As a member you would get in free, plus one other, but if you are not, they will charge an extra £12.20 per head, which they have asked us to pay a week beforehand. However we are hopeful that we shall have so many members going, we shall be able to "pair" people up to get free access for all - but no promises! We will need your membership number when booking and we would recommend taking your card with you.

There is a restaurant serving home-cooked food using local produce, light snacks and cakes. Alternatively you may choose to bring along a packed lunch. There is also an excellent Plant Centre (and of course the Flower Show) with a wide range of plants for sale. You are free to spend your time as you wish. We would expect to be back at Colehill by about 6 p.m. depending on traffic.

Wildside & The Garden House, Devon

PLEASE NOTE From 30th June, this trip is now available to members and non members alike
This year we are going to one of the Group’s favourite gardens. Keith Wiley’s amazing garden has been described as ‘a tour de force, the most innovative garden of our times’. Keith was due to talk to talk to us at the National AGM last year, but sadly we had to cancel due to covid. We are however pleased to reinstate our Day Trip from last year to revisit this wonderful garden which we last visited in 2016, as well as going to the Garden House (just down the road from Wildside).
This will be a long day so we will stop at the Exeter services for half an hour on both journeys.
We shall stop at The Garden House first where Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be included on arrival. You will then have time to wander the 10 acre garden, browse the plant sales, take advantage of the restaurant or eat your packed lunch. For more details, why not check out their website.

We will then travel the short distance to Wildside for a couple of hours . There are no refreshments here but we will be providing a bottle of water and biscuits, included in the price of your ticket.
